The boys could not have been more excited to be in the wedding! The outfits, the performance, seeing their grandparents and cousins were just too exciting for words. When we discovered the hotel room had a jacuzzi, it was the icing on the cake. We took time before all the scheduled events to go to the Navy Pier, ride the Ferris wheel and a water taxi. And then it was time for business with a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself. All the kids did well and charmingly discharged their duty as ring bearers and flower girls.
From the boys' perspective, special outfits, festive desserts, staying up late, opportunities to consume soda and the candy bar were huge wins. They remain deeply suspicious of dancing. From the grownup perspective, it was a lovely and fun wedding! We were grateful for significant help from Brian Stocker's mother, two recent
graduates from Mary Jo's school and the designated "meltdown room" near
the reception. It is also true that restaurants with moderate ambient noise cover a multitude of sins....
