Here is Team Matthew at the El Carmelo playground celebrating a successful transition from training wheels to two wheels. Stewart, always eager to try out new technology, had purchased a gyro wheel. It sounds like magic, but you replace the front wheel of the bike with the gyro wheel and it provides varying levels of balance to the bike. It worked perfectly to get Matthew comfortable and the battery died at just the right time for him to be ready to ride without it. He was eager to switch over to the regular wheel and took off.
The only little hiccup was a navigational one involving a tether-ball pole. David, proudly recording Matthew's achievement managed to catch that moment on video. It rivals Uncle Brian falling out of a tree. While we are not going to post it online, video viewings will be available on request. We are very proud of Matthew for getting right back on his bike.
