Owen is 2! We celebrated his birthday on Derby Day. It turns out that if you are a New Yorker, attempting to organize a Derby party in California where everyone is celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day you will get a lot of funny looks and no one will know what you're talking about. But no mind, there are horse-themed birthday decorations out there and we decided to make our own silly hats. B, (who babysits for us when Gina is not available) did very elaborate face painting and we managed to convince the Palo Alto Bakery to put red frosting roses on a cake (well it was more like flowers, but nevermind). And as a bonus, we finally found a use for the giant punch bowl that we received as a wedding gift - see above. Here us Matthew in his hat.
