Changes are a-coming

And so they are. If moving and buying a house wasn't sufficiently challenging for the first half of the year, we thought we'd tack on starting at a new preschool and a different nanny. We are so very sad that Ana will be leaving as she has been such a big part of our family for the last 3.5 years. Matthew seems to take most large scale changes with aplomb so we are hoping he will manage this as well.  He will need all his wits about him to cope with the fact that his baby brother is just starting to walk and talk.

Matthew and Owen have a real relationship now. Owen is always thrilled to see his brother despite periodically being squished, sat on, pushed, knocked over, swiped from and generally messed with. Matthew likes to crawl up to Owen, get right in front of his face and then let loose with the biggest tiger roar he can muster. Owen will just sit up, giggle with delight and blow a raspberry. The more outrageous and hyped up Matthew gets, the more appreciative an audience Owen becomes.  For Matthew, this is all a bit mixed. He enjoys the attention and admiration and will actually try to get Owen to play with him.  But then there is the fact that anything Matthew has, Owen wants (and vice versa) and that Owen provides some serious competition for parental attention. The roommate experience is working well enough. Owen gets all of us up a little earlier than we'd like but for the most part, the kids sleep through each other's middle of the night adventures.

So it goes. It has been a super busy and productive first half of the year. We hope our school and childcare choices will work out as well as our house seems to have so far. We are also looking forward to settling into a more regular routine and having time to post more photos!
