| Transitioning from Pool to Bike. |
This June marked Owen's entrance into the Silicon Valley Kid's triathlon. He watched Matthew last year and decided he wanted to do it too (a common theme in our house at this point in time). The youngest group (4-6 yrs) are allowed to have a parent help them through the race. Stewart was happy to be designated parent for another year.

Matthew graduated to the 7 year old group and capably managed the entire race without a parent guide. He swam 100 yards, Biked 2 miles and Ran 0.5 mile. The swimming portion was the hardest for both boys. Matthew showed particular perseverance by switching through all the different strokes as he got tired.

Both boys did very well, finishing strong in the baking heat. They are very proud of their accomplishment and will likely want to do it again next year.
