Teething Troubles
There is Owen asleep in the laundry basket. He passed out in the car and tried very, very hard not to wake up. The past run of continuous germs and erupting teeth have taken its toll on his sleeping routine. He is now so accustomed to joining his parents at night, that when he wakes crying and we go to check on him, we find him standing alertly at the side of his crib, snugglies tucked firmly under one arm, ready for transport to the parental bed. We are reaching the point where the parental need for sleep is outweighing the benefits of baby snuggles. The last of his infernal 18 month molars is about to break through. As soon as it does we are going to insist that he sleep in his own bed again. As he is a match for his brother in both volume and persistence, we are probably in for a few rough nights.
Matthew's comment: "Owen screams really loud, Mommy. It keeps me up."
Indeed it does.....
