Owen at 14 Months

Owen has arrived. He's a sturdy little fellow who has largely mastered walking and loves to toddle around at high speed.  Like his brother, he is an excellent eater and has earned the title "bottomless pit" from Gina, his baby sitter. He will actually drag the diaper bag containing snacks over to her at the park and look pointedly hopeful when he wants to eat something.  We were all taken aback when one day at the park, a grandfather picked him up to see if he was as heavy as he looked. (Gina told him off - yay Gina!!)

He's the most sociable and playful member of the family. While not a huge talker at this point, he quickly mastered waving, peekaboo, high fives, low fives, playing "catch" (not much catching at this point but plenty of throwing back and forth) and handing things to people. He's actually a very good communicator who seems to innately understand about the give and take that goes on between people in conversation or when playing together. His favorite toys are Tupperware and balls. He's good company and altogether a pleasure to be with.

Owen does a number of particularly adorable things at the moment. He likes soft blankets, to put things on his head and to play peekaboo - he will often combine all three activities at once - see photo below. He also likes to press buttons and has figured out how to turn the CD player in the play room and the Bose clock radio on. The other day he turned the radio on to Beyonce - "Put a ring on it" and started to dance. I wish we'd had our video camera. He definitely feels the music.  Below is a photo of Owen wearing his giraffe snuggly blanket.
