The First Month

We are now one month in and things are going well. Owen is settling in. We are delighted to report that he is healthy, has an excellent appetite, is growing rapidly and has a relatively calm disposition. We think he's great.

Matthew has responded to having a new member of the family with his usual verve and good nature. His only adjustment has been to increase his level of kinetic energy (yes, this is possible, there can always be more energy....). Happily, the weather has been completely lovely so we can spend more time outside. When things get trying, we have decided to start making videos so at least we can look back and laugh later or alternatively, use them as blackmail.

For those of you interested in these things, Matthew and Owen have now been duly registered with the French government and can claim citizenship. In all the craziness, Stewart assembled the necessary paperwork and headed off to San Francisco to tangle with both the State of CA and French bureaucracy. Unsurprisingly, the dealing with French consulate was a far more pleasant experience even though it required conducting all the business in French.
